Personalized Financial Planning
I have a personalized, comprehensive financial planning practice. I help my clients enjoy their lives and not worry about money. I work with individuals from many walks of life – business owners, doctors, retirees, professionals – who do not have either the time, interest, or knowledge to do their own financial planning. What all my clients have in common, is that they want sound, conservative, common sense advice. They are more interested in steady growth and reduced risk than in the latest financial derivative marketed by Wall Street or insurance companies.
All-Rounded Financial Planning
I stress financial planning because financial questions and problems are inter-related. Investment issues have tax ramifications, insurance issues have estate ramifications, estate issues effect how investments and businesses are structured, etc. Financial issues are closely tied to our emotions as well. How we plan our financial future frequently depends more on how we feel about ourselves and our families, than it does on what rate of return we hope to achieve. The best way to help a client become comfortable with their financial situation is to have a coordinated plan. This means gathering all appropriate information, both facts and emotions. It means evaluating the information and designing unique solutions for each client. It means not falling into “Boilerplate Solution Traps” constantly touted by the financial press.
Implementation
Proper financial planning also means making sure that plans are implemented. Once decisions are made, I conscientiously follow through to get them put into place. I review plans regularly, both to make sure the plans have been implemented and are working, and to make adjustments for changing circumstances.
Team Approach
I believe that accountants, attorneys and financial planners must all work together with the client as our sole focus of attention. It does not matter who takes the lead, or who gets the credit. The team approach for advisors works best for the client.
No Financial Issues Are Too Complicated for the Client to Understand
Financial issues should not be “too complicated” for a client to understand. All solutions and financial products can be broken down into components. Unfortunately, many products and services coming out of the financial services industry seem deliberately packaged to confuse people. One of my most important skills is to clearly explain complex issues, to help my clients understand them so that together we can make proper decisions.
